NISMO AND JR MOTORSPORTS RELEASE THE NISSAN GT-R (R35) CONFORMING TO FIA GT3 REGULATIONS
NISSAN MOTORSPORTS INTERNATIONAL CO. LTD. (NISMO) is pleased to announce the official release of a Nissan GT-R (R35) that conforms to FIA GT3 regulations: the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3.
NISMO and JR Motorsports (JRM), its official partner for this major project, have been jointly developing the car during 2011 and, following a series of extensive tests – which have included three competitive outings – the car’s performance and durability has proven its credentials for GT3 racing worldwide.
The Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 features a 3.8 V6 twin-turbo engine that is based on a standard road car unit, developing 530ps at 6400 rpm. Power is delivered via six-speed transaxle that drives the rear wheels, activated by a semi-automatic paddle-shift system.
Designed with customers in mind, driveability has been an important factor in the new car’s development programme. Therefore, as well as featuring a chassis that inspires confidence, suspension set-up and driver controls can easily be adjusted to suit a range of preferences.
The car is to be displayed in the UK at Autosport International (Europe’s biggest motorsport exhibition) on Thursday 12th January, where it will be unveiled on the JRM exhibition stand. It will then be displayed for the remaining three day’s of the show. The car will appear alongside the GT1 Nissan GT-R that won the 2011 FIA GT1 World Championship. To celebrate the launch, JRM will simultaneously run the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 as an official Nissan Europe entry in the Dubai 24-hour race, where it will be driven by four Nissan Champions from 2011: Michael Krumm, Alex Buncombe, Tom Kimber-Smith and Franck Malliaux.
Sales and customer support for the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 will be implemented by NISMO for Japan, Asia, North America, South America, and Oceania, whilst JRM will cover Europe, Russia and the Middle East.
The car is priced at 298,000 Euro (32,000,000 JPY)*. Enquiries should be made to either NISMO or JRM.

NISSAN ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR 2012 NORTH AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW

The worldwide debut of two concept vehicles will highlight Nissan’s presence at the upcoming 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. An all electric van concept, which underscores Nissan’s leadership in zero emissions vehicles and the Nissan Pathfinder preview concept, which provides a sneak peek at the next generation of Nissan’s longest running nameplate in the U.S., will be unveiled during the NAIAS press preview days, beginning Monday, January 9.
In addition to full access to Nissan’s global concepts during both days of the show, media interviews will be available with Nissan team members. Nissan Chief Executive Officer, Carlos Ghosn will also be the opening keynote speaker at the Automotive News World Congress on Tuesday, Jan. 10 in Detroit.
Nissan NAIAS Highlights:
The Pathfinder Concept, which previews the all-new look, style and attitude that Nissan will bring to the SUV segment when the next-generation Pathfinder goes on sale in fall 2012 at Nissan dealers nationwide.
Nissan’s innovative electric van concept. This concept previews a future production version of a full electric vehicle designed to provide businesses or families with flexible, roomy cargo space, while offering a dramatic CO2 footprint reduction.
A Nissan NV outfitted as a “Food Truck” with a local Detroit flair showcases the vehicle’s flexibility and user-friendly features, but acts as a culinary cornerstone for media hospitality throughout both press days.

GT-R GETS HARDER WITH TRACK PACK
Model Year 2012 line-up includes new track-focused edition

The 2012 Nissan GT-R may well be one of the fastest cars in the world, but its owners are the most demanding in the world. So Nissan has developed a new version of the GT-R for drivers who want an extra edge on the race track.
Called ‘Track Pack’, this new version of the GT-R offers a harder edge and yet remains fully road legal.
Externally the Track Pack is easily identified by lightweight six-spoke RAYS alloys with gloss black painted centres.
The brakes behind these are cooled by additional cooling ducts built into the front bumper. These reduce the operating temperature of the front brake discs by as much as 100 degrees during track use, improving the stopping performance. Similar ducts, hidden behind the rear wheels, channel cooling air over the rear discs.
To reflect this GT-R’s harder edge, the suspension’s spring rates have been revised to be optimal for track use. Like all GT-Rs though, the dampers are adjustable to offer more comfort when the car is being used on the road.
Internally, Recaro front seats are trimmed with blue bolsters and an innovative high grip material to help keep the driver in place during hard cornering and braking. The rear seats have been removed to save weight. A ‘Track Pack’ emblem on the centre console identifies this model as a special GT-R.
The engine retains the same specification as the ‘regular’ 2012 model GT-R, which means 550PS of power. The 0-60 mph time is just 2.7 seconds.
The Track Pack adds £10,000 to the £74,450 list price of the standard MY2012 GT-R, making it £84,450.
Orders for all 2012 GT-R’s can now be taken at any one of the 21 Nissan High Performance Centres around the UK. The first deliveries are expected in March 2012.

PIVO 3 – The smart urban commuter EV of the near future
Automated Valet Parking (AVP) enables PIVO 3 to automatically drive, locate a parking space and park without driver assistance in the infrastructure equipped parking lots envisioned for the future. It can also charge itself and return to its driver at the AVP exit when called by smartphone.
Compact 3-seater body under 3-meter long, narrow-tread rear tires and IWM (in-wheel motors) with wide steering angle allows PIVO 3 to make a U-turn on a road only four meters wide. The highly maneuverable PIVO 3 has zero turn gap, so if the front wheels can make the turn, the rear wheels will follow without scraping the body side.

NSH-2012 Smart House of the Future
Nissan will display its Smart House “NSH-2012″, an implementation of the “LEAF to Home” (V2H*) electric supply system, which uses power stored in Nissan LEAF’s batteries. The Smart House combines solar panels, fuel cells and Nissan LEAF’s batteries to maintain a steady power supply to the home, independent of weather conditions. Even during a power outage in a disaster, solar power and Nissan LEAF batteries can continue to supply the home with electricity.
* V2H stands for “vehicle to home”, that is, supplying electricity to the home from power stored in an electric vehicle’s batteries.

EV-based Smart Community
A broader application of the “LEAF to Home” electric supply system, Smart Communities integrate renewable energy and a bi-directional electric grid to enable new lifestyles. Motion displays show how EVs make this possible in three contexts: homes, buildings and communities.
Next-generation mobility with PIVO 3
A multi-media presentation of PIVO 3 functions, such as Automated Valet Parking, which link to the “smart city” infrastructure of the future and use cloud computing to enable intelligent and convenient next-generation mobility.

PURE DRIVETM – Boosting fuel efficiency with a suite of technologies
PURE DRIVETM is Nissan’s initiative to boost environmental performance in conventional-fuel powertrains. Cutaway models and videos will introduce PURE DRIVETM technologies including clean diesel, hybrid, stop/start system and XTRONIC CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).
Nissan Safety Shield – Towards zero fatalities
Nissan has set an ultimate goal of reducing the number of automobile accident fatalities or serious injuries involving its vehicles to substantially zero. Nissan’s Safety Shield concept defines pre- and post-crash conditions to guide the active development of technologies to address safety all around the vehicle. Nissan will introduce nine technologies by the end of 2011 to create a virtual “Safety Shield” for our customers. Video presentations and interactive displays will illustrate these innovations.
